Xi’an

China's ancient gateway and enduring citadel

Xi’an
China's ancient gateway and enduring citadel
Once the starting point of the Silk Road, this former capital is encased within magnificent, walkable city walls. Beneath its modern streets lies a profound sense of antiquity, most famously in the vast underground legion of life-sized clay warriors. The atmosphere is one of dusty grandeur, where the echo of camel caravans blends with the aroma of sizzling Muslim Quarter street food and the solemn chants from ancient pagodas, offering a visceral journey back to the zenith of China's early empires.

Terracotta Warriors

Discover the world-famous Terracotta Army in Xi’an, one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the 20th century. Created over 2,000 years ago to guard China’s first emperor in the afterlife, thousands of life-sized warriors stand in silent formation, each with unique features—offering a powerful and unforgettable insight into China’s imperial history.

Departure Times: 08:00 / 09:00
Departure Point: Giant Wild Goose Pagoda Station, Exit C (Metro Lines 3/4) — please arrive at least 10 minutes before departure

Return Point: North Square of Giant Wild Goose Pagoda
Return Time: Approximately 13:00 (08:00 departure) / 14:00 (09:00 departure)

Your guide meets you at Giant Wild Goose Pagoda Station and takes care of everything from the moment you board. The coach heads east out of Xi'an, and within an hour you're standing at the entrance to one of the most extraordinary sites on earth.

The Terracotta Army is not something you can fully prepare for. Pit 1 alone — with its rows of life-sized warriors stretching into the distance — has a way of silencing even the most seasoned traveller. You'll have approximately 3 hours to explore at your own pace: the warriors of Pit 1, the command figures of Pit 2, the high-ranking officers of Pit 3, and the museum's bronze chariots and artefacts that tell the story of China's first emperor.

Your guide handles ticketing on arrival, so there's no queuing at the booth — just walk in and start exploring. When it's time to leave, the coach brings you back to Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, where the tour ends.
