Ni Hao! Welcome to China. Upon arrival at Beijing Capital International Airport, your English-speaking tour guide will be waiting to greet you. Transfer to your comfortable 4-star hotel where you can settle in, recover from your journey, and get ready to explore this remarkable country. The remainder of the day is at leisure – perhaps take a stroll around the local neighbourhood to get your first taste of Chinese culture.
Make your way to the very heart of Beijing and stroll across the vast expanse of Tiananmen Square, one of the world's largest public spaces and the symbolic centre of Chinese power. Then step through the imposing red walls into the magnificent Forbidden City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site spanning over 180 acres. Built more than 500 years ago, this extraordinary palace complex was off-limits to commoners for almost all of that time, serving as the exclusive home to 24 Ming and Qing dynasty emperors. Marvel at the stunning imperial architecture, intricate dragon carvings, and grand ceremonial halls as you walk in the footsteps of emperors.

The afternoon is free for you to explore at your own pace. An optional tour of Beijing's 700-year-old Hutongs (narrow lanes) by traditional pedicab is available, including a visit to a local family home for a delicious home-cooked dinner.
✓ Breakfast
Today is a highlight of your trip as you visit one of the world's most iconic landmarks – the Great Wall of China. You will explore the Juyong Pass, one of the most accessible and visually striking sections, representing the former splendour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Originally built over 2,000 years ago to protect China from invaders, this architectural marvel winds through rugged mountain landscapes, offering unforgettable panoramic views at every turn. Take your time to walk along the ancient stones, imagining the soldiers who once patrolled these very ramparts. En route, stop at one of Asia's largest jade exhibitions to learn about China's most revered gemstone and its cultural significance. Enjoy a delicious included Peking Duck lunch near the Wall. In the afternoon, an optional tour to visit the exquisite Summer Palace is available, with its 716 acres of landscaped gardens, temples and the serene Kunming Lake. The optional tour also includes a stop at Beijing Zoo to see giant pandas and a banquet dinner.
✓ Breakfast | ✓ Lunch
This morning, visit a traditional Chinese health centre where you'll learn about the ancient practices of acupuncture, herbal medicine, and other wellness traditions integral to Traditional Chinese Medicine that has been refined over 2,500 years. Then transfer to Beijing Airport for your included domestic flight to the cosmopolitan city of Shanghai. Upon arrival, a tour representative will meet you and transfer you to the charming city of Suzhou, often called the 'Venice of the East' for its beautiful canal network. Check into your hotel and enjoy an evening at leisure in this historic city.

✓ Breakfast
Suzhou boasts a history dating back to 514 BC and is renowned for its classical Chinese gardens. This morning, visit the UNESCO-listed Lingering Garden, one of China's four most famous classical gardens. Wander through its exquisite pavilions, rockeries, and covered walkways that perfectly embody the harmony between man and nature that defines Chinese garden design. Next, stop at a traditional silk spinning factory – China has been producing silk for over 5,000 years, and Suzhou has long been at the heart of this industry. Watch skilled artisans demonstrate the intricate process of turning cocoons into lustrous fabric. You may also take the opportunity to cruise along the ancient Grand Canal, China's remarkable 1,100-mile waterway. In the afternoon, drive to the beautiful city of Hangzhou, famous for its natural beauty and tea culture.
✓ Breakfast
Hangzhou is considered one of the tea capitals of China, so a visit here wouldn't be complete without experiencing its famous tea culture. This morning, make a special visit to the Tea House at Meijiawu Tea Village, nestled in the picturesque hinterland of West Lake. This village is one of the most important production areas for the prized Longjing (Dragon Well) tea. Surrounded by terraced tea plantations, you'll learn the time-honoured art of tea cultivation – from picking the tender leaves to the precise wok-frying technique that gives Longjing its distinctive flavour. Participate in a traditional tea ceremony and sample some of the finest tea in China. Afterwards, enjoy a scenic boat cruise on the UNESCO-listed West Lake, gliding past willow-draped shores, ancient pagodas, and serene islands that have inspired Chinese poets and artists for centuries. In the afternoon, drive to Shanghai, one of the world's great cities, a dazzling metropolis where historic charm meets futuristic flair. The rest of the day is at leisure. Tonight you can take part in an optional activity to watch a superb and thrilling Chinese Acrobatic show, "ERA: Intersection of Time" (not included, paid locally). Experience a dazzling evening at Shanghai Circus World, where the ERA show blends traditional Chinese acrobatics with multimedia effects and martial arts.
✓ Breakfast
Begin your exploration of Shanghai at the legendary Bund, one of the most iconic waterfronts in the world. Stroll along this elegant promenade where grand European-style colonial buildings from the 1920s and 30s line the western bank of the Huangpu River, offering a striking contrast to the ultra-modern, futuristic skyline of Pudong directly across the water. Here you can see the Oriental Pearl Tower, the Shanghai World Financial Centre, and the twisting Shanghai Tower – the world's second-tallest building. Visit the comprehensive Shanghai History Museum to discover how this once-modest fishing village transformed into the 'Pearl of the Orient' and one of the world's most dynamic cities.
